How Much Does a Wedding Cost in Montreal?

We will break this down by budget and number of guests.

These estimates do not include shoes, dresses, makeup artists, limousines, travel, or honeymoon expenses.

We will include reception hall, menu, photographer, videographer, DJ and entertainer, photo booth — what we call a “clé en main” (turnkey) package.

These estimates are based on weddings held on Saturdays between May and the end of October for the 2026–2027 season.

For multicultural weddings, Italian cuisine is the norm. We generally recommend avoiding French cuisine for weddings in Montreal — it is delicious but often served in smaller portions.

A dance floor and head table are always included.

An open bar all night ranges from $30 to $40 per person, added on top of the package you choose.

You may bring your own cake; most halls do not charge a cake-cutting fee.

Events typically end at 2:00 a.m., and cleaning is included. We also work with two venues that are hotels: Plaza Universel and Plaza Boucherville.

It is important to reserve your venue at least one year in advance.

Small Weddings (60–90 Guests)

Most reception halls require a minimum of 60 guests and typically offer rooms for up to 80 people. If you need space for an additional 10–20 guests, this is usually not a problem.

A starting budget of $115 per person + tax includes a 3-course meal: cocktail reception with canapés, salad, main course, and dessert.

Media and entertainment pricing example:

One professional photographer + one videographer for 7 hours: $3,200

DJ + photo booth: $1,800

For smaller weddings (50–90 guests), full turnkey packages are less common.

Medium Weddings (100–150 Guests)

Reception halls usually assign a room for up to 200 guests, allowing flexibility if your guest list grows.

The DELUXE turnkey package ($155 per person + tax) typically includes:

  • 4-course meal
  • Cocktail reception with canapés
  • Salad, main course, dessert
  • Sweet table
  • Media and entertainment often include:
  • One professional photographer + one videographer (12 hours each)
  • DJ + MC/animator
  • Photo booth (approx. 4 hours)

You may choose between two main options:
